There are many different bars to go on a regular night in Gavea. They vary in the music, the food and the people that frequent them. However, the meeting point is Baixo Gavea, where every Thursday night people from 18 to 35 gather to have some beers and relax. It is one of the most traditional places in Rio, it is perfect to grab a few drinks, tal to friends and meet new people. Everybody is welcome, it does not matter what you are wearing, whether you are single or marry, ready to party or just chilling, you just take a caipirinha and sip it out.
One can actually choose to stay around on the street buying alcohol from vendors, or sit on a bar and enjoy your drinks after having a nice typical brasilian meal or some amazing sushi. During summer this happens everyday. Let`s not forget that Gavea has a silent law that establishes a curfew, so every bar closes at 1 am.
