Casa da Matriz
One of the most famous bars in Botafogo, open since 1996 captivating people with their two dance floors, the house has a capacity for 450 people, has in its second-floor pinball machines. The music style of the place is rock and electronic music.
Rock Bar, located in a two-floor house. With very good style and music is one of the most popular places for young people and expats. The dance floor in the first floor is always full of people enjoying the music.
This bar is always crowded with people every day, this bar/restaurant is prepared to give us the best of Botafogo in terms of food and drinks. To secure a place to sit, it is advisable to be before the 21 Hs. In case we don’t have a reservation we can wait in the bar, or in the waiting room with a sofa that is more comfortable than any other seat of the place, outside will find tables and benches in the area that is also used by smokers. People are attracted by the innovations on traditional dishes of Brazil, such as polenta, or the Sicilian lemon risotto.
Big Ben Pub
With all kinds of attractions, with the design of an English pub and more than 20 varieties of beers to enjoy. The Wednesday and Thursday are Karaoke night, so the most uninhibited ones can sing, as soon as the other may enjoy some of the delicious snacks that served in the Big Ben. The Tuesday is closed, only open by reservation.

What to do in Botafogo?
Main touristic points:
– Botafogo beach: it is not recommended to swim in this beach due to its highly contaminated water. However, there is a long bicicle path to walk or run, and there is also the amazing view of the Guanabara bay and the Sugarloaf.
– Guanabara bay: as mentioned before, the Ganabara bay offers a beautiful sightseeing. The Sugarloaf and the Morro da Urca are the big stars. There is also a Regata club with hundred of little boats and yachts spread all over the bay, that complete the perfect picture. The club hosts many events and concerts.
-São João Batista Cementery: created in 1852, this cementery is the place where presidents, writers, politicians and socialy recognized people are buried. It was one of the first cementery without socila class distinction.
-Pasmado Pequeño Viewpoint: it is a park with a view towards the Guanabara bay, the Sugarloaf and the Christ.
-Casa Daros: it is a XIX century building that was remodeled into a cultural centre that focusses on latin american contemporary art.
-Palácio São Clemente: it offers free concerts every last Saturday of the month, starting at 6 p.m.
Botafogo night life is really active and everyday there is something new to do. By just taking a bus and landing on any corner, you will find a regular bar with its own particular style, or may be a night club or a nice restaurant. you will fall in love with Botafogo.
